It has been deemed to be illegal if your car lights and number plate are obscurred from view and this may happen if you are attaching a bicycle carrier to the back of your vehicle or to a tow bar. Our lighting units will ensure that you are travelling legally should your bike rack obstruct your car lights or number plate.
In the Pendle Bike Racks range there are lighting units for tow bar racks and lighting units for the tow bar lighting units are supplied with a 7-pin plug (a 13 pin to 7 pin adapter is now available - please ask for details), which fits into your tow bar socket. There are two types available:
a tow bar lighting unit manufactured from steel, with a powder coated black finish to match the bike racks and side protectors for the lights (Order Code: TBLU)
a budget tow bar lighting unit, which is manufactured from plastic and is white with no light protectors (Order Code TBLU-BUD)
The Strap On Rack lighting unit is for vehicles, which do not have tow bar electrics and is available in the same designs as the tow bar lighting units except that it is supplied with a wiring kit to connect into your boot to supply a socket.
